Many Sisters pursue Motherhood, or rather succumb to the pressure to marginalize themselves according to societal standards for Black Femininity, desperately attempting to squeeze Afrocentric glamour out of the designated Mammy role, promoting pride in the tradition of Pregnancy as a rite of passage, instead of indigenous Wombman-hood credentials affording you the benefits of a warrior spouse.
I choose to pursue my own Priestess-hood because it is natural for a woman of the craft to commit herself to The Mysteries and host them in her Temple, as natural as it is for a womb-man to get pregnant and endure gestation in her womb. Motherhood is a commitment to nurturing and educating the youth, the next generation, the community, and the Family. Priestess-hood is a commitment to nurturing The Immortals, The Mysteries and The Spirits, with expression of Divine Rites and Sacred Feminine Principles. Mothers hold the embryo, birth the species and continue the Race. Priestesses hold The Mysteries, embody Divinities and continue the Sacred Rites of Mysticism. It is common for Mothers to Sacrifice their Independence and Individuality for the abundance of Children.
It is common for Bloodline Witches to sacrifice the social margins and commitments of Motherhood for the Powers and Mysteries of Priestess-hood. It is the responsibility of a Mother to Set an Example of Wombman-hood for children to learn from.
It is the responsibility of a Priestess or Witch to set an Example of Divinity, to empower The Sacred Feminine where others lack the Rites and Powers to do so.
My role as Black High Priestess is to set an example of the Spirits in my court, my temple and my initiations. To elevate Black Femininity with expressions of a liberated VVitch taking responsibility for Vodu.
